About Us

Joshua Perr is a husband, father and owner of Hedge of Protection Security Services. He is a security veteran with more than 20 years of experience, including 18 years of service in the Alabama National Guard and four years with the Department of Corrections Special Operations, where he specialized in high-risk tactical response and advanced combat training. His background also brings four years of experience in healthcare security, a role that solidified his belief that empathy is a critical component of safety. He is a Red Cross-approved First Aid, AED & CPR instructor, a Certified Security Officer Trainer, TASER certified and holds a degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice.

At Hedge of Protection Security, we combine tactical expertise with psychological insight. Leveraging our leadership’s background in psychology and nonverbal communication, we train our team to read situations first, before any escalation. We focus on the nuances of human interaction—eye contact, tone, body language, posture and more, which ensures that we provide a secure environment while maintaining a customer-service mindset that treats all individuals with dignity and respect.

We are committed to the economic growth of our community, having provided employment for over 200 local professionals, within Madison County.
